Music Monday: Black Crows, Hard to Handle

I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Black Crows.

Music Monday: eye of the tiger, ala the pedal pusher society

I think this video is hilarious and I’m kinda diggin the Girl Power Groove thing they got going on  here.

I’m under the weather at the moment so I thought I’d catch up on my blog reading — I was starting to get scared again while studying group rides and what counts as an acceptable speed. I needed the levity. These gals are having fun and you know, I kinda think that’s how it should be.

And then another cycling video just for fun.

Music Monday: God’s Not Dead, Newsboys

Another contemporary praise and worship song that I enjoy. This one always gets me on my feet. Happy Monday y’all.

My Favorite Superbowl Commercial: And on the 8th Day

While I wasn’t raised on one, I come from a long line of farmers. This is a wonderful heritage. Paul Harvey nailed it.

Music Monday: Shackles (Praise You) Mary Mary

I heard this song for the first time at a Women of Faith conference back in 2011 I believe. This is definitely one of my favorite songs. These gals have so much energy. Enjoy

Music Monday’s: Doc Watson, Amazing Grace

Music Monday: TSO, Old City Bar

One of my favorite Christmas Songs

Music Monday: Love Me Like A Man

I’m trying something new here for you guys. Now that I’ve been assimilated as a musician (even if it’s still at the wannabe stage)  I’ve been researching different music styles. One of my girlfriends told me she is learning this song by Bonnie Raitt. It’s been so long since I’ve heard it that I had to look it up. And I thought the words to Salty Dog made me blush. I heard this song for the first time when I was only 10 years old and now that I’m old enough to understand the lyrics – oh heck yeah, don’t we all girlfriend. I love Bonnie Raitt (She turned 63 last week). I wish I had a voice for blues.

Video: Brad Stine, Smokers Can’t Help it

I am an on again off again smoker. Quitting for good is the hardest thing I’ve ever attempted. My problem is I actually enjoy it. I will get there. Brad Stine is one of my favorite comics of all time. He tells the truth in such a humorous way that it is difficult to be offended. I needed the laugh.

Almost Wordless Wednesday: Thelma Wells, the Uniqueness of Prayer

How many of you have ever been to Women of Faith?

How many of you have heard of Thelma Wells? Also known as Mama T.

I had the awesome privilege of hostessing Mrs Wells when she spoke at E-Women in Tulsa several years ago. This woman has a mothering spirit so strong that I wanted to crawl into her lap. I listen to her when ever I can. God uses her in wonderful ways. Rejoice greatly oh daughter’s of Zion.

This talk was recorded on Mother’s Day at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill Texas this year. I hope it blesses you as much as it did me.

Enjoy.
